How the Chronicle Is Read
A guide to the chronicle’s historical record, its invented Quiet Hand, and its stated uncertainties.
The account
The Long Vigil recounts the Knights Templar from 1119 through spring 2956 and supersedes earlier Templar accounts. Its opening follows the Order through 13 October 1307. Later chapters pair the public record with the Quiet Hand, the hidden history of the Order. The Stone’s origin in 1187 remains a disputed legend, not an established fact. The Order’s colours are a red cross on white and the black-and-white Beauseant.
