founded c. 1119 to guard the Jaffa–Jerusalem pilgrim road (); arrested 13 October 1307 and suppressed 1312 by provision, never by verdict; the survivors hid for 1,510 years as the Vigil of the Temple under forty-one Wardens, kept Molay's chair empty, and helped in secret (); took back their name at Tomar on Friday 18 March 2822 (); chartered by the UEE Senate on 13 October 2828 ().
