The Proclamation at Tomar

On 18 March 2822, Isolde Marr proclaimed the Order in the open at Tomar. This replaces the earlier website’s 2825 Return.

User-authored Star Citizen fiction.

Before dawn the Stone went up the hill to the Charola on a borrowed grav-sled, guided by Aurelio Sant'Ana with his grandmother Ana, the Keeper, beside it; first daylight move since 1834.

About 3,000 present: the Seven Hearths, eleven Outer Hearths, Hearth-kin from forty systems, Ark archivists, a Banu trade envoy, two Xi'an observers, an old Portuguese priest whose family kept the Charola key for nineteen generations. The roll of Wardens I–XL was read, then the Roll of the Lost.

Marr's words: 'We were not dissolved. We were quiet... We were never a quiet order. We were a patient one. Today we take back our name. We are the Knights Templar.'

The Grand Master's Oath (hands in the two hollows): 'I put my hands where the hands before me have been. I keep the Door. I take nothing for myself. The Shield, the Bread, the Road. Not to us, Lord, not to us, but to your name give the glory.' (The Warden's Oath said 'I keep the Seat empty.')

The unfinished arm of the cross on the banner was painted red: the Templar cross whole for the first time since 1312. Broadcast across the Spectrum. That night Marr washed her hands and ate bread standing: 'It is done. Now it begins.'

Aftermath: hoax claims, an Advocacy inquiry (prompted partly by the Mavrou house's claim to the Templar name) found no unlawful act in 1,510 years; the Ledger opened to audit.
